Vladimir Kmec

Vlado is a postdoctoral researcher at the Von Hügel Institute and St Edmund’s College at the University of Cambridge. While working across the disciplines of sociology, anthropology, politics, international relations, religious studies and theology, he researches on migration and religion, ethnic and religious conflicts, European Union CSDP missions and operations, and United Nations peacekeeping and peacebuilding, with a particular focus on Ireland, Germany, Mali and the Western Balkans. Vlado studied at the University of Cambridge, Trinity College Dublin, Comenius University in Bratislava, Humboldt University Berlin, Georg-August University in Göttingen, the University of Ottawa, Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nürnberg. He previously worked at University College Dublin and the University of Groningen. He has professional experience with the United Nations (Department of Peacekeeping Operations, and Mine Action Service), Amnesty International, the media and religious organisations. He has collaborated with European and international youth and student associations.
